The film is set to be released in cinemas in the UK & Ireland on the 15th November.
A new trailer has now been released for the upcoming sequel to Ridley Scott’s 2000 film, which is set to be released later this year.
Starring Paul Mescal as as Lucius, the film follows him as the the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and nephew of Commodus, the original film’s antagonist played by Joaquin Phoenix, who returns to Rome as a Gladiator who also reunites with his mother and makes new enemies.
The supporting cast for the film also includes: Pedro Pascal as Marcus Acacius, a Roman general who trained under the command of Maximus; Denzel Washington as Macrinus, a wealthy powerbroker in Rome who keeps a stable of gladiators for sport; and Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger as the twin emperors of Rome.
Meanwhile, the film will also once again feature a score by Hans Zimmer and was written by Peter Craig and David Scarpa.
