The production will begin performances at Theatre Royal Brighton from 13th to 18th January 2025, before transferring to the Duke of York’s Theatre in London from the 24th January until the 12th April.

Additional casting has now been announced for Daniel Fish’s production of Elektra based on Sophocles’s play and adapted for this production by Anne Carson.

Joining the previously announced Brie Larson (Room) in the UK premiere of the production will be:  Patrick Vaill as Orestes, Stockard Channing as Clytemnestra, Marième Diouf as Chrysothemis and Greg Hicks as Aegisthus.

Elektra, haunted by her father’s assassination, is consumed by grief; a need for survival; and a thirst for vengeance. When her long lost brother Orestes at last returns, she urges him to a savage and terrifying conclusion but at what cost?

With tickets for the production on sale now, day seats for the production will be available throughout the run as well as a  “pay what you can” lottery.

Produced by Empire Street Productions, the creative team behind Elektra includes: Annie-B Parson (choreography), Jeremy Herbert (set design), Doey Lüthi (costume design), Adam Silverman (lighting design), Max and Ben Ringham (sound design), Ted Hearne (composer), Kate Godfrey (voice and dialect) and Heather Basten (casting).
