NEWS: Laura Horton’s Lynn Faces to Run at the New Diorama Theatre

The production will run at the theatre from the 18th February until the 1st March, with opening night set for the 19th February.

It has been announced that Laura Horton’s new play will head to the New Diorama Theatre as the London part of the national tour.

Nearing 40, painfully shy, and emerging from a toxic break-up, Leah forms a punk band inspired by the Alan Partridge character Lynn Benfield, and takes to the stage despite her lack of musical ability. Will this gig push Leah further over the edge, or help her regain her confidence and find the hope she needs to move on?

Directed by Jess Daniels, this new play that explores the impact of abusive behaviour, the power of friendship and how silliness can be healing.

Talking about the production, Laura Horton said: “I’m delighted to be returning to New Diorama Theatre with Lynn Faces. I’ve put so much of myself into this production, from the seed of a small, weird idea to this production, with the most wonderful creative team. Finding hope in the face of adversity, feels like a prescient theme.”

The play heads to London following a run at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it won the Birds of Paradise Exceptional Theatre Award.

Produced by Naomi Turner, the creative team also includes: Sound Designer/Composer Anna Wheatley, Set designer Tabitha Stock, Lighting designer Megan Lucas. The production has been co-commissioned by New Diorama Theatre with Norwich Theatre and Theatre Royal Plymouth.
