Inside the Rehearsals of….The Tempest, Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Jamie Lloyd’s production of Shakespeare’s play is set to start performances on the 7th December.

Rehearsal images have now been released for Jamie Lloyd’s production of The Tempest, which will officially open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on the 19th December.

This revival of Shakespeare’s play will see Sigourney Weaver (Alien) making her West End debut. She is joined in the production by Jude Akuwudike (Alonso), Jason Barnett (Stephano), Selina Cadell (Gonzalo), Mathew Horne (Trinculo), Mara Huf (Miranda), Forbes Masson (Caliban), Mason Alexander Park (Ariel), James Phoon (Ferdinand), Oliver Ryan (Sebastian) and Tim Steed (Antonio).

As well as being directed by Jamie Lloyd, the production’s creative team includes: set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound design and co-composition by Ben and Max Ringham, co-composition by Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, movement by Fabian Aloise, associate direction and text editing by Jonathan Glew, casting by Stuart Burt, musical direction by Giles Deacon, intimacy coordination by Ingrid Mackinnon, associate costume design by Anna Josephs, props supervision by Fahmida Bakht and production management by Lloyd Thomas.

It is the first show in the Jamie Lloyd Company’s Shakespeare season at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, which will be followed by a production of Much Ado About Nothing starring starring Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning) from the 10th February until the 5th April 2025.
