The production will run at the Royal Opera House from the 4th March until the 26th May.

It has been announced that Kenneth MacMillan’s production of Romeo and Juliet will celebrate its 60th anniversary by returning to The Royal Ballet this Spring.
Created originally on dancers Christopher Gable and Lynn Seymour, the ballet premiered in 1965 with Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn in the lead roles and has since become a masterpiece of The Royal Ballet repertory.
Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s score, this production of the ballet features designs by Nicholas Georgiadis, which sweep audiences into the Renaissance-era Verona.
An ancient family feud casts a long shadow over the town of Verona. In this hothouse of tension, brawls are quick to break out and both sides get caught in the crossfire.
In terms of the casting for the revival, the production will see recently promoted Principal dancer Joseph Sissens makes his debut as Romeo with Akane Takada as Juliet on the 5th May.
The run will also include performances from Royal Ballet Principals Melissa Hamilton, Francesca Hayward, Sarah Lamb, Yasmine Naghdi, Marianela Nuñez, Anna Rose O’Sullivan and Natalia Osipova as Juliet with Matthew Ball, William Bracewell, Reece Clarke, Cesar Corrales, Ryoichi Hirano, Steven McRae and Calvin Richardson as Romeo.
It has also been announced that this revival of the ballet will be screened in cinemas live on Thursday 20th March with Principal dancers Fumi Kaneko and Vadim Muntagirov dancing the lead roles. Encore screenings begin from Sunday 23rd March.
