It has been announced that the Design Museum’s exhibition The World of Tim Burton is being extended due to popular demand and is now booking until the 26th May 2025.

Since opening in October 2024, the exhibition has welcomed 171,000 visitors to explore the numerous characters and creative processes behind some of his memorable films with hundreds of illustrations, paintings, puppets, costumes, and more.

This is the museum’s busiest exhibition in its 35 year history, with its immensely popular Barbie exhibition set to go out on tour.

Before arriving in London, the exhibition had been on a decade-long world tour, during which it visited 14 cities in 11 countries. The London exhibition features more than 600 items from Burton’s work and films, including objects from his earliest unrealised projects to his most recent film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024).

Highlights of the exhibition includes:  props, set designs and costumes from films like Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Mars Attacks! (1996), and Sleepy Hollow (1999).
