The production of the musical will run at the National Theatre from the 23rd April until the 28th June.

Complete casting has now been confirmed for the National Theatre’s revival of Stephen Sondheim & David Ives’ musical which is inspired by two films – The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and The Exterminating Angel – by Luis Buñuel.
Having had its world premiere at the Shed in New York in 2023, it has been confirmed that transferring with the show from the New York run will be Tracie Bennett and Denis O’Hare (Tartuffe). They will be joined by Rory Kinnear, Chumisa Dornford-May, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Richard Fleeshman, Harry Hadden-Paton, Cameron Johnson, Jane Krakowski, Martha Plimpton and Paulo Szot.
The company will be completed by Edward Baker-Duly, Alastair Brookshaw, Jack Butterworth, Molly Lynch, Amira Matthews and Steven Serlin.
Leo and Marianne Brink have found the ideal spot to take their friends. With great reviews, impeccable service and an extensive menu it seems like nothing could go wrong. But after a series of strange events interrupt their meal, they soon realise they’ve bitten off more than they can chew.
The musical is directed by Joe Mantello and features a score by Sondheim as well as a book by Ives.
Meanwhile, the creative team behind the production also includes: set and costume designer David Zinn, choreographer Sam Pinkleton, orchestrations Jonathan Tunick, additional arrangements Alexander Gemignani, conductor Nigel Lilley, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Tom Gibbons and casting director Bryony Jarvis-Taylor.
