NEWS: Sylvanian Families: The Movie to Get UK Cinema Release

It has been confirmed Sylvanian Families: The Movie will be released in UK cinemas in time for Easter on the 4th April.

Based on the beloved toy franchise, the film has been written by
Hirotoshi Kobayashi and is directed by Kazuya Konaka.

Released in time to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary, the film takes place in the village of Sylvania during the annual Festival of the Stars. While everyone is waiting for the event, Freya, the Chocolate Rabbit girl, begins to worry about finding a birthday gift for her mum. It is designed to be a story that celebrates love, community and friendship.

The film features the voices of Misa Watanabe, Yuina Kuroshima and Inori Minase.

The Sylvanian Families brand was created by the Japanese gaming company Epoch in 1985. Over the years there have been animated series, starting in 1987 and then most recently a 12-episode short animation series in 2017.
