Love London Love Culture’s Music Picks: May 2025

Die Walküre, Royal Opera House: from the 1st to the 17th May, the Royal Opera House presents the second chapter of Wagner’s Ring cycle. Conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by Barrie Kosky, the cast is set to include: Christopher Maltman, Elisabet Strid, Natalya Romaniw, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Soloman Howard.

Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus: the singer is set to release her 9th studio album, following on from 2023’s ‘Endless Summer Vacation’. The album is also set to be accompanied by a film, which will be released in June. As a record, the album is said to be inspired Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’, it will be interesting to to listen to it in full when it is released on the 30th May.

Sequence 01 by F5ve to be released: it was confirmed earlier this year that the Japanese girl group would be releasing their debut album on the 5th May. It is set to feature previously released singles such as ‘UFO’, ‘Underground’ and their debut single ‘Lettuce’. The album has been produced by  Grammy winner BloodPop® (Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber) with additional production from A. G. Cook(Charli xcx, Utada Hikaru), Hudson Mohawke and more.

Kylie Minogue arrives in London for ‘Tension Tour’ – The O2: on the 26th and the 27th May, the iconic singer brings her latest tour to London. As well as performing songs from her latest album, Kylie will also highlight many songs from her career. She will also return to London in June!

Pink Elephant, Arcade Fire: this seventh studio album from the Canadian indie rock band is set to be released on the 9th May. It includes the lead single ‘Year of the Snake’ which was released on the 8th April.

Never/Know, The Kooks: released on the 9th May, The Kooks return with their seventh album, which follows on from 2022’s ’10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark’ . The 11 track album will include the songs ‘Sunny Baby’ and ‘If They Could Only Know’.
