You know the sculpture. Now hear her story.
She inspired a masterpiece… then vanished into the streets of 19th century Paris. Little Dancer is a new musical based on the story of Marie van Goethem, the girl who posed for impressionist Edgar Degas and became the heart of one of the most celebrated sculptures in history. This evocative original show is a bold exploration of the indomitable spirit of a young woman in a man’s world.

Amy Ruggiero will cover Young Marie off-stage, with Simi Jolaoso and Ying Ue Li performing as soprano booth singers.
The full creative team behind the show includes: Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), Doug Besterman and Larry Hochman (orchestrations), Sam Davis (musical supervision and dance arrangements), Shawn Gough (musical direction and conducting), Jeff Whiting (associate director), Ginger Thatcher (associate choreographer), Ben Davis (associate scenic designer), Donald Sanders (associate costume designer) and Sabrina Cuniberto (costume supervisor).
