The second part of the film based on the musical is set to be released in cinemas on the 21st November.
The final trailer for the eagerly anticipated Wicked: For Good, based on the award winning musical has been released.
This newly released trailer sees Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda on opposite sides fighting for the future of Oz. We also get glimpses of what has happened to the other familiar faces – as well as the introduction of Dorothy to the story (although we don’t see her face).
As well as Erivo and Grande, the cast for Wicked: For Good also sees Jonathan Bailey reprising his role as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madam Morrible and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz himself.
The second instalment is set to be released nearly a year after the first part was released in November 2024.
Wicked is based on the best selling novel by Gregory Maguire, telling the story of the unexpected friendship Elphaba and Glinda as they attend Shiz university.
Writers of the musical Winnie Holzman (book) and Stephen Schwartz (score) have collaborated with Dana Fox on the screenplay.
As well as recognisable numbers from the musical such as “For Good”, “As Long As You’re Mine” and “No Good Deed”, the film adaptation features two brand new songs “No Place Like Home” and “The Girl in the Bubble”. The soundtrack for Wicked: For Good will be released on the 21st November.
