The production will run at the King’s Head Theatre from the 9th January until the 15th February.
It has been announced that Tony Award-winning actor-musician Levi Kreis will star in the newly announced UK premiere of the new musical, which Kreis wrote the book, music and lyrics for.
As his Broadway show is about to be filmed for the archives, Levi unravels in his dressing room, ready to end it all. His sponsor, Ben, bursts in and through their confrontation, a bit of theatrical magic begins to occur: the room splits open and out steps the brash younger self Levi once was. Past and present collide in a theatrical self-reckoning as the two versions of Levi bring to life past memories and the three men morph through dozens of characters powered by a score that soars from gospel tambourine to tender ballad.
While further casting for the show has yet to be confirmed, the creative team behind the show includes: Additional Book by Dave Solomon (who also directs), Music Supervision, Arrangements & Orchestrations by Matthew Antonio Perri, Sound Design byJessica Paz, Set Design by Jason Ardizzone-West and Costume Design by Jason Antone.
Levi Kreis created the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet on Broadway, winning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, and received a Drama League nomination. He has also performed in Violet on Broadway, and as Hermes in the US national tour of Hadestown and as Roger in Rent. Already Perfect marks his musical theatre writing debut.
