news: The Hunger Games Stage Shown Confirms Casting for President Snow

The role of President Snow has now been confirmed for the world premiere of The Hunger Games on stage, based on the first book in the series by Suzanne Collins.

Joining the previously announced Mia Carragher (One Night in Istanbul, The Gathering for Channel 4)  as  Katniss Everdeen, Euan Garrett as Peeta Mellark and Joshua Lacey as Haymitch Abernathy, it has been confirmed that Oscar nominated actor John Malkovich will star as President Snow in the production, appearing via via screen during the production rather than performing in the flesh. 

The show has said that the character will be “brought to life inside Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre with cutting-edge technology.”

Meanwhile, the cast also includes:  Tristan Waterson plays Gale Hawthorne, Sophia Ally plays Primrose Everdeen and Ruth Everett plays Mrs Everdeen. Tamsin Carroll plays Effie Trinket, while Stavros Demetraki plays Caesar Flickerman and Nathan Ives-Moiba plays Cinna. The Hunger Games has been adapted for the stage by Connor McPherson and directed by Matthew Dunster.
