The theatre has today unveiled the rest of its 2026 productions including a world premiere and a production of a classic musical.
The Mill at Sonning has announced its 2026 season, running from February until January 2027. This announcement follows the news of a production of Michael Cooney’s Cash on Delivery (5th February until the 4th April).
Newly announced today is the world stage premiere of Jack & Sarah, based on the film starring Richard E. Grant and Dame Judi Dench. Adapted for the stage by Duncan Abel and directed by Abigail Pickard Price, the story follows the story of Jack who , is suddenly left to raise his baby daughter alone and so sees his carefully constructed world following apaert – until the arrival of Amy, a free-spirited au pair. It will run at the theatre from the 23rd April until the 13th June.
Shear Madness (25th June – 15th August), written by Paul Pörtner (1925–1984) this whodunnit is set in Shear Madness hair salon where a woman is found murdered and with the audience also required to help solve the mystery by following the clues and questioning the suspects – chaos is set to happen.
This will then be followed by a new production of Agatha Christie’s The Mirror Crack’d, playing at the theatre from the 4th September until the 31st October. It has been adapted for this production by Rachel Wagstaff. Miss Marple is required to solve a shocking and unexpected death at the end of an opulent evening at Gossington Hall…
Arriving in time for Christmas, The Mill at Sonning will present its production of classic musical Anything Goes from the 19th November until the 17th January. Featuring classic Cole Porter songs such as “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and the show-stopping title number “Anything Goes”, audiences are invited to join nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, wide-eyed stowaway Billy Crocker, and a ship-full of colourful characters as they navigate mistaken identities, madcap schemes, and unexpected love aboard the luxurious S.S. American.
