A24 has launched the trailer for Olivia Wilde’s dark comedy The Invite set to be released in cinemas this summer following its premiere as part of the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on January 24th, 2026.
Joe and Angela are on thin ice, and tonight might be when it all falls apart. Unfortunately, their upstairs neighbours are about to arrive for dinner, and everything that can go wrong goes worse.
The film stars Olivia Wilde alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. It has been written by written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
The Invite is based on The People Upstairs by Cesc Gay and features cinematography by Adam Newport-Berra and a score by Devonte Hynes.
This is the third feature film from Olivia Wilde, following the successes of Booksmart (2019) and Don’t Worry Darling (2023).
