Bess Wohl’s play won the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and has recently been nominated for five Tony Awards.

It has been announced that Bess Wohl’s play will head to London in 2027 with dates and theatre yet to be announced.
Directed by Whitney White, ‘Liberation’ focuses on the story of consciousness-raising feminist group in 1970s Ohio, all of whom are using their different backgrounds and ideologies as they try to make big change in their small town. Years later, the founder’s daughter tries to piece together how her mom’s life turned out so differently than she planned all those years ago.
The play first premiered Off-Broadway and on Broadway last year and among its other accolades Liberation won Outstanding Play honors at the Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Awards.
This London production will be produced in association with Eleanor Lloyd Productions (Constellations, Emilia, Shifters) and Eilene Davidson Productions (Punch, People Places and Things).
