NEWS: ALFI Restaurant Announces Pasta Workshops

This October, ALFI the independent Italian restaurant has announced a programme of five hands-on workshops travelling from Emilia-Romagna to Capri, with a different destination and duo of pasta shapes at every stop.

The Pasta Passport will take guests on a culinary journey across Italy with tagliatelle & strozzapreti in Emilia-Romagna, pici & maltagliati in Tuscany, busiate & casarecce in Sicily, maccheroni al ferretto on the Amalfi Coast and lemon & ricotta ravioli in Capri.

Each two hour class  comes with a glass of Prosecco, everything needed to make the pasta from scratch, expert guidance and plenty of opportunity to get mani in pasta – akahands in pasta!

The itinerary is as follows:

  • 3 October: Emilia-Romagna | Tagliatelle & Strozzapreti | 3–5pm
  • 11 October: Tuscany | Pici & Maltagliati | 1–3pm
  • 17 October: Sicily | Busiate & Casarecce | 3–5pm
  • 23 October: Amalfi | Maccheroni al Ferretto | 7–9pm
  • 31 October: Capri | Lemon & Ricotta Ravioli | 3–5pm

The classes are priced at £48 per class or £200 for all five.

For ALFI’s co-founders, the popularity of its workshops has made pasta a natural focus for October.

“Our workshops have become such a lovely part of what we do at ALFI, and the pasta classes in particular have proved incredibly popular. There’s something about making pasta by hand that people really connect with. It’s a skill you can take home and do again and again, whether you’re cooking for family, friends or just yourself.

“So this October we thought, why stop at one pasta class? We wanted to take people on a little whistle-stop tour around Italy and introduce them to some of the incredible pasta shapes and traditions from different regions. The Pasta Passport felt like the perfect way to do it – a chance to travel around Italy without leaving Spitalfields.” – Ben & Alex, Co-Founders, ALFI.
