The album is set to be released on the 27th November.
It has been announced that 67 years after scoring his very first number one with The Drifters with Living Doll, Sir Cliff Richard has announced the release of his 48th studio album ‘Only Number Ones’ featuring twelve of his personal favourite chart-toppers from The Beatles to Harry Styles.
Set for release in November, the album will see the singer putting his own unique style on on classic and contemporary Number Ones spanning eight decades. A deluxe edition will also bring together all 14 of Cliff Richard’s original classic Number One singles.
Carefully selecting twelve of his favourite Number One tracks by artists such as The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley and Harry Styles, the album was produced by Sam Hollander & Josh Edmondson and recorded in February this year. ‘Only Number Ones’ features Spirit in the Sky, Oh Pretty Woman, All I Have to do is Dream and Rock Around the Clock as well as Sign of the Times and a brand-new 2026 version of White Christmas.
Sir Cliff Richard said: “I suggested to Warner Music that I record an album of songs that made it to No.1. Thank heavens they agreed!! I listened to dozens of songs and chose 12 of my favourites. This record is my tribute to fabulous artists who had recorded wonderful tracks that achieved the number one position”.
The album will also be released as a Deluxe Edition featuring all of Cliff Richard’s 14 original Number One tracks from 1959’s Living Doll, through Bachelor Boy, The Young Ones, Summer Holiday, Congratulations, We Don’t Talk Anymore and more including his three Christmas Number Ones Mistletoe and Wine, Saviours Day and 1999’s The Millennium Prayer.
