The rehearsals for the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s season of plays at the Garrick Theatre have now begun it has been announced.
This season of works includes The Winter’s Tale, which will be performed in repertory alongside the Rattigan double-bill featuring Harlequinade and All on Her Own. The run will begin at the theatre from the 17th October until the 16th January 2016.
The Winter’s Tale will be co-directed by Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh, who last collaborated on their production of Macbeth in Manchester and Manhatten. Judi Dench will be starring as Paulina opposite Kenneth Branagh as Leontes.
Meanwhile, Harlequinade is a rarely seen piece in which a classical theatre company attempts to produce The Winter’s Tale and Romeo and Juliet, while the intrigues of the company members are accidently revealed with hilarious consequences. Kenneth Branagh will be starring as Arthur Gosport as well as co-directing the production with Rob Ashford.
