Charlie and The Chocolate Factory Celebrates 1000th Performance in the West End!

The hit musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book celebrated its 1000th performance at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane last night.

In order to celebrate this new milestone for the musical, producers have announced that the booking period for the show has now been extended for another six months, until the 3rd December 2016. Tickets for this new booking period are now available to buy.

Directed by Sam Mendes and currently starring award-winning actor Jonathan Slinger as the extraordinary Willy Wonka, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has become a firm family favourite in the West End.

The production won two Olivier awards in 2014 and  has broken box office records since it opened at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in June 2013.

Roald Dahl’s classic story of Charlie Bucket’s adventures with willy Wonka has captured the imaginations of children and adults alike for the last fifty years. It has been brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, a book by David Greig, set and costume designs by Mark Thompson and choreography by Peter Darling.
