The Dulwich Picture Gallery has unveiled its 2016 programme of exhibitions, which will include the first major show outside of Norway dedicated to the work of Nikolai Astrup, a survey of studies by Winifred Knights and a closer look at the work of Adriaen van de Velde.

Painting Norway: Nikolai Astrup (5th February-15th May) – opening the gallery’s season of displays is this rare opportunity to see the work of Norwegian artist Nikolai Astrup. The exhibition will present more than 100 works by the artist, who spent much of his career documenting the landscape and tradition of his home.

The exhibition will start by tracing his career rooted in the memory of his childhood all the way through to his sadly premature death at the age of 47. It is the first major display of his work outside of Norway.
