Full Cast Announced for European Premiere of Grey Gardens

The full cast and creative team have been announced for the premiere of the acclaimed Broadway musical Grey Gardens, taking place at the Southwark Playhouse from the 2nd January to the 6th February 2016.

Based on a 1975 documentary that tells the real life story of the rise and fall of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s aunt and cousin Edith and Edie Bouvier Beale, this production is directed by Thom Southerland and features set designs by Tom Rogers.

Joining the previously announced sheila Hancock and Jenna Russell in the cast are: Billy Boyle, Aaron Sidwell, Jeremy Legat, Ako Mitchell and Rachel Anne Rayham.

Billy Boyle joins the cast following two years playing Grandpa George in the West End hit musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a range of other roles in shows such as Dirty Dancing and Beauty and the Beast.

Meanwhile, Aaron Sidwell has just completed a run in Green Day’s American Idiot as Johnny at the Arts Theatre in the heart of London’s West End.

The rest of the cast is made up of child actors including: Alana Hinge, Grace Jenkins, Rebecca Nardin and Eleanor Waldron.

Grey Gardens will feature choreography by Lee Proud, lighting by Howard Hudson and costumes designed by Jonathan Lipman. It is based on a book by Doug Wright, with music by Scott Franke and lyrics by Michael Korie.

It is produced by Danielle Tarento and directed by Thom Southerland, the award-winning team behind Grand Hotel, Titanic, Parade and Mack & Mabel.
