New production images of Ralph Fiennes and company in the new production of Henrik Ibsen’s The Master Builder , running at the Old Vic Theatre now have been released.

This new adaptation by David Hare of Ibsen’s play is directed by Matthew Warchus and stars Ralph Fiennes as Halvard Solness, Linda Emond as Aline Solness and Sarah Snook in the role of Hilde Wangel.
Henrik Ibsen’s masterpiece explores the themes of power, control, life and death and is brought vividly back to life in this latest production at the Old Vic Theatre.
The master builder, Halvard Solness (Ralph Fiennes), has a fear of falling. A self-made man, without professional qualifications, he has achieved domination in the town, but he is increasingly frightened of being displaced by the young. A woman, Hilde Wangel (Sarah Snook), appears from the mountains, claiming to have known Solness ten years previously, and telling him of a promise he made to her when she was thirteen.

Ralph Fiennes has an extensive list of theatre credits including roles in Man & Superman, Coriolanus and Faith Healer. His screen credits include playing Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films and the role of ‘M’ in Spectre.
Linda Emond is an acclaimed American actress who is best known for her roles in the Broadway production of Cabaret and Death of a Salesman. Her film work includes roles in Jenny’s Wedding and Julie & Julia.
Meanwhile Australian actress Sarah Snook’s credits include roles in the South Australian Theatre Company’s production of King Lear and Crest Fall for the Griffin Theatre Company. Her screen credits include roles in The Dress Maker starring Kate Winslet and Steve Jobs.
Other members of the cast include: Charlie Cameron, James Dreyfus, Owen Findlay, Martin Hutson, James Laurenson, John McAndrew, Eleanor Montgomery, Eleanor Sutton and Peter Yapp.
The Master Builder’s creative team includes design by Rob Howell, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, music by Gary Yershon and sound by Simon Baker.
The Master Builder is currently in previews at the Old Vic Theatre. It officially opens on the 3rd February and will continue to book until the 19th March 2016.
