Films to Keep an Eye Out for this Summer

While the weather may not be getting warmer as we would like, there is still plenty of films to look out for over the Summer – so here is Love London Love Culture’s guide to the best of the rest!

Love & Friendship: 27th May – what could be more perfect for the summer months than a new Jane Austen adaptation? Based on Austen’s early novel Lady Susan, this film promises to be a lively a fun filled affair!

Alice Through the Looking Glass: 27th May – it has to be said that although this is a highly anticipated film, judging by the trailer it looks as though some of the story has been changed slightly – so not quite sure how it will all turn out. But as it is a Tim Burton film and starring Johnny Depp, it is guaranteed to get the audiences flocking in.

Ghostbusters: 15th July – a new all-female version of the classic is highly anticipated and starring Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, should hopefully be a success with the critics and audiences. Plus any CGI used will be twice as good as the original 1980’s films. So who are you going to call this Summer?

The BFG: 22nd July – the last version of Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book to hit the big screen was a cartoon version. Now the Big Friendly Giant gets a live action film that will see Mark Rylance as the title role. Very excited about this one!

Finding Dory: 29th July – this sequel to the 2003 hit Pixar film, sees Dory on her own journey to try and find her family, but as you would expect with plenty new characters and adventures along the way. If you are of the Pixar generation then you will not want to miss this.
