Films to Look Out for the Rest of the Year

It might be July, but there are still lots of films to keep an eye out for during the second part of 2016. Here are some of Love London Love Culture’s favourites:

1.Cafe Society – the latest Woody Allen film starring Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg is getting a UK release, reportedly in September. Set in the 1930’s it follows the story of Bobby who goes to Hollywood and falls in love, before moving back to New York where he is swept into the world of high society nightclub life.

2. BFG – released on the 22nd July, this new adaptation Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book will star Mark Rylance as the giant himself. High expectations for the CGI and the translation of the beloved story for the big screen, mean that this is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. No pressure then.

3.  Bridget Jones’s Baby – Thank goodness! Bridget is back! This time with a certain package attached to her.Renée Zellweger is back as is Colin Firth and new love interest played by Patrick Dempsey. Hopefully, this one is a lot stronger than the sequel.

4. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander, offering us a new opportunity to re-enter J.K. Rowling’s magical world – but this time filled with more magical creatures than ever.

5.  Finding Dory – the sequel to the hit 2003 film is finally here! Dory wants to be reunited with her family, leading new adventures and new friends to be made along the way. Fans of the original who will probably be all grown up now, will love the opportunity to revisit the underwater world again.
