Richard III, Almeida Theatre: ok, so it is extremely late to catch this (last performance 6th August) but fret not as there will be encore cinema screenings of Rupert Goold’s production starring Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave.
Some Girl(s), Park Theatre: another final call if you are intending to see this production of Neil LaBute’s play about making amends for your past actions and finding something that you were missing. The production stars Roxanne Pallett and Carly Stenson. Finishes 6th August.
Stalking the Bogeyman, Southwark Playhouse: based on a true story, this play tells the story of award-winning journalist David Holthouse who learns that the man who sexually abused him 25 years ago has moved into the neighbourhood and so he plans to exact revenge on the man who stole his childhood. It received strong reviews from critics – but it is performing for the last time on this run on the 6th August.
Romeo and Juliet, Garrick Theatre: Kenneth Branagh’s theatre season at the Garrick Theatre continues with this new adaptation of Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy. Richard Madden has had to pull out of the show due to injury , meaning that Freddie Fox now stars opposite Lily James in the iconic roles. Critics were divided over the production, which closes on the 13th August. The Stripper, St James Theatre (studio): from the creators of the Rocky Horror show comes this new musical that takes audiences on a journey into a sleazy underworld of strip-joints and lost lonely hearts. It received a wide variety of reviews , but seems to have gone down well with audiences. It finishes on the 13th August.
Titanic, Charing Cross Theatre: Thom Southerland’s production was extended following fantastic reviews , but will be sailing out of London once again on the 13th August. (Discount Theatre.com, Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk, Theatre People.com and UK Tickets.co.uk)
The Deep Blue Sea, National Theatre: Helen McCrory and director Carrie Cracknell have reunited for this production of Terence Rattigan’s masterpiece. Critics enjoyed this adaptation and is now heading towards the end of its run, which will finish on the 17th August.
Other shows closing in the next few weeks are: Faith Healer at the Donmar Theatre, Exposure the Musical at St James Theatre and Jesus Christ Superstar at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
