The Dublin duo released their latest single ‘Stand Down’ on Friday 12th August.
Their combination of rock & roll combined with folk music is very much reflected in this latest single, which follows on from ‘Cold November Sunrise’ and is taken from their upcoming album, due to be released later this month.
Talking about the single the duo said: “Lyrically, the song is inspired by those poor unfortunates (usually politicians) who tend to stop at nothing when striving for success… They will lie, mislead, instill fear and do whatever it takes to get the people on side, without any true regard for the people. This song sparks the idea that there will eventually come a time when we’ll come together, rise above them and use truth and honesty to start fixing all of the things that need to be fixed.”
As well as performing as a full band, the pair also perform as a harmony duo and have toured with the likes of The Magic Numbers, Sinead O’Connor, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott and Damien Dempsey.
Upcoming gigs include performing at the Vinyl Bar in London on the 25th August.
“We felt this would be the perfect follow up to ‘Cold November Sunrise’ – it is a step in a direction that feels very exciting to us. We’re growing as writers, The (Morrissey and Marshall) band are growing in numbers and we’re loving it right now.”
