For those who missed seeing Miss Saigon in London, don’t despair as it has been confirmed the hit London production will be touring the UK from next year.
Cameron Mackintosh made the announcement that the production will open for this major UK tour at the Curve Theatre in Leicester on the 3rd July 2017, before travelling to Birmingham, Dublin, Cardiff, Edinburgh and finishing in Southampton on the 17th March 2018.
The London revival production of Miss Saigon opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in 2014, gaining a warm reception from audiences and critics alike. During its run, the musical celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special gala performance featuring the original London cast.
Miss Saigon features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and Alain Boublil. The new production is directed by Laurence Connor with musical staging by Bob Avian and additional choreography by Geoffrey Garratt.
Casting for the UK tour has yet to be confirmed.
Since opening at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1989, Miss Saigon has gone on to become one of the most successful and popular musicals in history. It has been performed in 28 countries and has won over 40 awards including two Olivier Awards, three Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards.
