The next instalment is due in 2018 and is highly anticipated whether you are a child or an adult who has grown up with these films.

Captain Phillips: this 2013 film shows once again just how varied the actor’s career has been. Based on true events, the film went on to help him win Best Actor at the BAFTA Awards.
Sleepless in Seattle: a unique romantic comedy (the two leads don’t officially meet until the end of the film) this film was a departure from what Tom Hanks had done up until this point in his career. His portrayal of a character trying to deal with the loss of his wife while looking after his eight year old son is warm, affectionate and completely endearing.
Saving Private Ryan: this 1998 film earned Tom Hanks his fourth Academy ward nomination and is considered to be one of the best films about World War II in recent times.
There are so many other films that Tom Hanks has put his name to as an actor such as Catch Me if You Can, Bridge of Spies and Saving Mr Banks which have ensured that he is one of the world’s most beloved actor. These five in particular show off his diverse range of acting qualities that make him able to fit and suit any role in which he is given.
