It has been confirmed that the platinum selling recording artist and award winning singer will star as Mama Morton in the UK tour of Chicago for four weeks only.

The singer will join the cast when it plays at the Sunderland Empire from 28 November to 3 December 2016 and Birmingham Alexandra Theatre for the Christmas season, from 12 December to 31 December 2016.

Based on real life events in the 1920’s, Chicago follows the story of Roxie Hart who attempts to keep off death row – with the help of lawyer Billy Flynn. It includes songs such as ‘All That Jazz’ and ‘Roxie’.

The UK touring production currently stars John Partridge as Billy Flynn, Hayley Tamaddon as Roxie Hart, Sophie Carmen-Jones as Velma Kelly, Neil Ditt as Amos Hart and A.D. Richardson as Mary Sunshine. It is choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse and directed by Walter Bobbie.

Mica Paris is renowned singer, ever since she released her debut, platinum-selling album, ‘So Good’ from which she had her first top ten hit, ‘My One Temptation’. She has been a special guest performer alongside many respected artists including Prince, Michael Bolton, Dionne Warwick, Paul Rodgers, David Gilmour and Jools Holland. On stage she has performed in the West End productions of Mama I Want To Sing, The Vagina Monologues and Sweet Lorraine.
