The story follows Clara on an enchanting journey to the glittering Kingdom of Sweets. Complete with a magical Christmas tree, memorable character dances and the dazzling pas de deux of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince. It is a classic ballet that has remained a firm favourite of families and a strong part of the Royal Ballet’s repertoire.

This new run of performances will see a host of rising stars making their debuts from across the company including Claire Calvert, Francesca Hayward, Yasmine Naghdi and Beatriz Stix-Brunell as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Matthew Ball, Nicol Edmonds and Reece Clarke also make their debuts as the Prince, with Isabella Gasparini dancing the role of Clara for the first time with The Royal Ballet.

For those who will be unable to see the production live at the Royal Opera, there will be a special live screening in cinemas across the UK on the 8th December and encore screenings on the 11th December.

To continue with the festive theme, it has also been confirmed that the Royal Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker will be the inspiration for the Christmas windows of department store Liberty.

Peter Wright’s production of this classic story features designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman, lighting design by Mark Henderson and will be conducted by Boris Gruzin and Dominic Grier (from 31 December).

The Nutcracker will play at the Royal Opera House  from the 23rd November until the 12th January 2017. To book tickets visit:  Discount Theatre.com, Love Theatre.com, Theatre People.com and UK Tickets.co.uk.
