Peter Wright’s production returns to Covent Garden from the 5th December.
A young girl’s enchanted present leads her on a wonderful Christmas adventure in this beautiful classical ballet, danced to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score.
The classic festive treat for all of the family, The Nutcracker returns to the Royal Opera House, featuring designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman and lighting by Mark Henderson.
Meanwhile, this run of the production will star Royal Ballet Principal Dancers Lauren Cuthbertson, Francesca Hayward, Sarah Lamb, Laura Morera, Yasmine Naghdi, Marianela Nuñez and Akane Takada as the Sugar Plum Fairy during this run. Federico Bonelli, Alexander Campbell, Ryoichi Hirano, Nehemiah Kish, Steven McRae and Vadim Muntagirov perform as the Prince. Soloist William Bracewell makes his debut in this role.
Audiences will follow Clara and Hans-Peter on a whistle-stop journey through the enchanting Kingdom of Sweets, as they encounter snowflakes, the Sugar Plum Fairy and a selection of colourful characters, brought to life by the Royal Ballet.
