Following the success of their debut concert performance of State Fair, the London Musical Theatre Orchestra have announced that their Christmas concert will be a performance of  Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens’ musical production of A Christmas Carol.

Taking place at the Lyceum Theatre on the 19th December, the London Musical Theatre Orchestra will present the London premiere of Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) and Lynn Ahren’s ( Ragtime, Seussical) Broadway musical of Charles Dickens most beloved story.

The show arrives in London following a decade long success at New York’s Paramount Theatre in Madison Square Garden and will be presented in concert form for the first time, backed by the 32 strong London Musical Theatre Orchestra as well as being performed by a West End cast, yet to be announced.

This new concert performance led by the orchestra sees its continuing aim to make orchestral performances more accessible to new audiences as well as bringing the world of  musical theatre to a more classical audience.

As well as music by by Alan Menken and lyrics by Lynn Ahren, the musical also features a book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens. Songs in the Broadway production includes ‘God Bless Us Everyone’ , ‘Jolly Good Time’ and ‘Christmas Together’.

A Christmas Carol will be performed at the Lyceum Theatre on the 19th December at 7.30pm. To book tickets visit ATG Tickets.
