Following a successful UK tour this year, Footloose will return once again to stages across the country in 2017, opening at New Wimbledon Theatre on Friday 21 April.

The 2017 tour will then conclude with a strictly limited West End season, appearing at the Peacock Theatre from the 12th September 2017 for three weeks.

Footloose: The Musical is based on the 1984 film which starred Kevin Bacon and tells the story of city boy Ren who is forced to move to a rural backwater in America where dancing is banned. It doesn’t take long for hell to break loose and Ren has everyone up on their feet and dancing.

This musical production features classic 80’s hits such as Holding Out for a Hero,Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear it for the Boy and of course the hit title track Footloose.

The 2017 tour will see Gareth Gates and Maureen Nolan reprising their roles as Willard and Vi Moore, with further casting to be announced.

Footloose features music by Tom Snow and lyrics by Dean Pitchford and has been adapted for the stage by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. The production is directed by Racky Plews (American Idiot, West End) and is choreographed by Matthew Cole.

Footloose – The Musical  will be touring the UK from the 21st April until the 9th September. The production will then visit the Peacock Theatre in London from the 12th September until 30th September.
