NEWS: Lillias White to Make London Stage Debut in This Joint is Jumpin’

It has been announced that Broadway star Lillias White and British actor Samuel Anderson will lead the cast of This Joint is Jumpin’.

Playing at The Other Palace Studio from the 4th April, This Joint is Jumpin’ is a celebration of the life and music of Fats Waller.

Celebrating jazz icon Fats Waller’s life and music, New York’s finest are in town and they want you to join them. Michael Mwenso and The Shakes are joined by hoofers Michela Lerman and Joseph Wiggan for an evening of exceptional live jazz, tap dancing and inventive storytelling. Singin’ for their supper and breathing new life into classics like Ain’t Misbehavin’, Black and Blue, Honeysuckle Rose, these hip contemporary artists celebrate American jazz via their critically acclaimed style.

Lillias White is a Broadway star who has won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards and starred in productions such as Dreamgirls and The Life.

Meanwhile, audiences will recognise Samuel Anderson from television programmes such as Doctor Who, Gavin & Stacey and Trollied.

They will be joined by internationally celebrated tap dance artist Michela Marino Lerman
Princess Grace Award winner tap dancer Joseph Wiggan  and critically acclaimed vocalist Michael Mwenso and The Shakes.

This Joint is Jumpin’ is directed by Patrice Miller and features choreography by Michela Marino Lerman.
