The Backyard Cinema has announced its latest instalment, following on from its The Last Chapel, The Winter Night Garden and The Lost World themed seasons. 

Running from the 30th May until August, the Miami Beach experience will take audiences to the beach with a selection of films that celebrate sun, sand and the tropical which will be shown at Backyard Cinema’s permanent home at Mercato Metropolitano in Borough.

With ticket holders exchanging  city footwear for flip-flops at the door and tropical outfits encouraged, Miami Beach will whisk audiences back to Miami in the 80’s whether its a family night out, an evening with friends or a special date.

The sand-filled, Miami experience hosts giant beanbag seating and an in house bar serving a selection of themed cocktails alongside craft beers, cider and prosecco.

Talking about the news Dominic Davies, the company founder says: “We cannot wait to fill our cinema with 10 tons of sand and show some of the best films the cinematic world has to offer. Make sure you paint your toenails, ticket holders will have the chance to swap civilian shoes for our very own Backyard Cinema flip flops making this a truly remarkable experience. We’ve added exciting elements to make this summer our best yet.” 

Films lined up for this Summer season include: Grease, La La Land, Finding Nemo, Pretty Woman, Magic Mike, Dirty Dancing and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
