The Hippodrome and Hartshorn – Hook Productions have announced that the rock ‘n’ roll sensation will return to the Leicester Square based venue from the 18th July.
Grab your shades and get ready to shake your tail feather because The Blues Brothers are making a sensational return to the London stage.
The Blues Brothers – Summer Special is a supercharged, rock ‘n’ roll party, destined to take the capital by storm during its exclusive summer run at The Hippodrome in the heart of the West End.
Directed by Joshua Mumby and with choreography by Lily Howkins, this summer special event will feature 20 popular rock ‘n’ roll classics such as ‘Respect’, ‘Soul Man’ and ‘Do You Love Me?’ as well as some never-seen-before material created by the star of the original cult classic film Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi.
Casting for show has yet to be confirmed.
It is being brought to the stage by Hartshorn – Hook Productions, whose previous shows in the West End include the Olivier Award winning Rotterdam (Trafalgar Studios), Murder Ballad (Arts), Urinetown (Apollo), American Idiot (Arts and UK Tour) and The Blues Brothers: Xmas Special (Arts).
Meanwhile, the Hippodrome is located in the heart of London’s West End and features three casino floors as well as a 180-seat cabaret theatre, six bars and an indoor smoking terrace. It has presented performances from some of the world’s biggest musical theatre, dance, comedy and rock artists including Prince who performed his final UK gig at the venue in 2014.
