The first images of the cast of the world premiere production of Bananaman the Musical have been released, ahead of the show opening on the 15th December.

With supervillains Doctor Gloom and General Blight attempting world domination, who can we call?Superman’s on holiday. Spiderman’s not picking up. Our only option – our very, very last option – is Bananaman.
Bananaman, the Man-of-Peel, is a unique member of the superhero ranks. This handsome hero may have a jaw line you can see from space and sport the snazziest of tight lycra outfits, but he’s also got “the muscles of 20 men and the brain of 20 mussels.”

Directed by Mark Perry, Bananaman the Musical has been written and composed by Leon Parris and will receive its world premiere at the Southwark Playhouse from the 15th December until the 20th January 2018.
The cast is set to include Matthew McKenna as Bananaman, Marc Pickering as Doctor Doom, Jodie Jacobs as Eric’s loyal sidekick, Crow, Mark Newnham as Eric ,Carl Mullaney as General Blight, TJ Lloyd as Chief O’Reilly, Lizzii Hills as Mrs Wimp ,Brian Gilligan as Mad Magician ,Emma Ralston as Fiona with Chris McGuigan and Amy Perry in the Ensemble.

The creative team includes choreography by Grant Murphy, set and costume design by Mike Leopold and is produced by Sightline Entertainment in association with Cahoots Theatre Company and Beano Studios.
