NEWS: Katie Melua Announces Acoustic Version of Album No. 8

This new acoustic version of the album is set to be released on the 26th November.

Katie Melua has today announced the release of the acoustic album of Album No. 8 which will rework the songs of the 2020 album.

This new version of the album has been produced by Zurab Melua and is set to offer fans renditions of the songs in a pure form.

Considered to be her most personal album to date, Album No. 8 offered an exploration into her emotional and personal state as well as seeing her pushing the creative depths for her music. Songs to feature on the album include: ‘A Love Like That’, ‘Maybe I Dreamt it’ and ‘Airtime’.

The original album was released during the pandemic and because she was unable to tour, Katie would often share acoustic performances of the songs online, usually joined by her brother Zurab.

Talking about the acoustic version of the album Katie said: “I’m proud of these songs and missed being able to tour around the release of the album last year. Performing them in this distilled way has given them a new lease of life. Zurab has a brilliant mind and we were able to do everything, apart from mastering, at home which is in a beautiful part of London. I think the tranquility and the green park around the area is part of the atmosphere on the record.”

The first single from the album is ‘Remind Me To Forget’, which features the double Grammy award-winning, renowned violinist Simon Goff.

Since releasing her debut album Call Off The Search when she was just 19 years old, Melua has gone on to release released eight UK Top 10 studio albums includin:, Piece By Piece, Pictures, The House, Secret Symphony, Ketevan, the self-produced &critically acclaimed In Winter, and 2020’s Album No. 8.
