The new science-fiction horror film is set to be released by Universal Pictures next month.

The UK release date for Infinity Pool has been announced to be the 24th March. Written and directed by Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral, Possessor) , this is his third film and it originally premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Elevation Pictures in Canada on January 27th.

Cronenberg developed the story from actual experiences he had on unsatisfying holidays and a science fiction story about killing clones he had been writing.

While staying at an isolated island resort, James and Em are enjoying a perfect vacation of pristine beaches, exceptional staff, and soaking up the sun. Guided by the seductive and mysterious Gabi they venture outside the resort grounds and find themselves in a culture filled with violence, hedonism, and untold horror. A tragic accident leaves them facing a zero tolerance policy for crime: either you’ll be executed, or, if you’re rich enough to afford it, you can watch yourself die instead.

The film stars Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth, Cleopatra Coleman, Jalil Lespert and Thomas Kretchmann. It has been produced by Karen Harnisch, Andrew Cividino, Christina Piovesan, Noah Segal, Rob Cotterill, Anita Juka, Daniel Kresmery and Jonathan Halperyn.
