NEWS: Casting Announced for London Run of The SpongeBob Musical

The musical based on the series by Stephen Hillenburg, will head to the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall from the 26th July until the 26th August as part of its UK tour.

Showpath Entertainment have announced the cast for The SpongeBob Musical’s London run at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. The production will star Divina de Campo as Plankton with Gareth Gates and Tom Read Wilson alternating the role of Squidward.

The cast for the London run will be completed by Lewis Cornay as SpongeBob, Irfan Damani  as Patrick, Chrissie Bhima  as Sandy, Richard J Hunt  as Mr Krabs, Sarah Freer  as Pearl, Eloise Davies  as Mrs Puff, Hannah Lowther  as Karen and Rebecca Lisewski  as Mayor. They are joined by Sam Beveridge, Farirayi Garaba, Jeremiah Olaleye, Eleanor Turiansky, Rhys Batten  and Reece Kerridge  and Theo Reece. They are joined by the band Sam Beveridge, Jeremiah Olaleye and Eleanor Turiansky.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and became the hottest star on Broadway? SpongeBob SquarePants! Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show!

When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world!

The musical features a book by Kyle Jarrow as well featuring original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I. and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics by Jonathan Coulton. Additional music by Tom Kitt. Musical production conceived by Tina Landau.

Meanwhile, the creative team behind this UK premiere includes: direction by Tara Overfield Wilkinson, choreography by Fabian Aloise, designs by Steve Howell, musical supervisor Mark Crossland, musical director Marcus Carter-Adams , costume designer Sarah Mercade,  lighting and video designer Ben Bull, sound designer Ben Harrison, costume and wig supervisor Megan Rarity, associate choreographer Paris Green and casting director Harry Blumenau.
