NEWS: Casting Announced for Jerry’s Girls at the Menier Chocolate Factory

The production is set to begin performances on the 18th May.

The Menier Chocolate Factory has announced full casting for its revival of Jerry Herman’s Jerry’s Girls, running at the theatre from the 18th May until the 29th June.

Directed by Hannah Chissick, the cast will include: Cassidy Janson, Jessica Martin and Julie Yammanee.

Cassidy Janson return to the Menier Chocolate Factory, having previously appeared in Candide and Tick, Tick…Boom!.  Her other theatre credits include Bare (The London Palladium), & Juliet (for which she won the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical) and playing Carole King in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Aldwych Theatre).

Jessica Martin made her West End debut playing Sally Smith opposite Gary Wilmot in Me and My Girl (Adelphi Theatre) and has performed in over thirty musicals. Her other theatre credits include playing Mabel in Mack and Mabel (Piccadilly Theatre) and later playing Lotte in Mack and Mabel atSouthwark Playhouse, Babes in Arms and The Card (Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park), The Wizard of Oz (Theatre Royal Plymouth and UK tour) and South Pacific (Churchill Theatre and UK tour).

Julie Yammanee also returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory having previously starred in Spamilton . Her other credits include: Bonnie and Clyde (Garrick Theatre), Clueless (Churchill Theatre, Bromley), Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Hope Mill Theatre), Gatsby (Southwark Playhouse) and Lazarus (King’s Cross Theatre).

The show Jerry’s Girls celebrates the life and legacy of legendary award-winning Broadway composer Jerry Herman. It features songs from musicals such as Hello, Dolly!MameMack and Mabel, Dear World and La Cage Aux Folles.

Meanwhile, the creative team behind this production includes: choreography by Matt Cole, set and costume design by Paul Farnsworth, lighting design by Philip Gladwellmusical supervision and arrangements by Sarah Travis, and an all-female band.
