A teaser trailer has been released for James Mangold’s (Walk the Line) new film A Complete Unknown, which will be released in cinemas in the UK & Ireland in January 2025.
Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, A Complete Unknownfollows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
The film’s cast is led by Timothée Chalamet (Dune, Wonka) as Bob Dylan. He is joined by Edward Norton (Fight Club, Birdman), Elle Fanning (The Great, Maleficent), Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick), Boyd Holbrook (Logan, The Bikeriders), Dan Fogler (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Walking Dead), Norbert Leo Buzt (Dan in Real Life), and Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12 Years A Slave).
Bob Dylan has previously been played on screen by Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, Ben Whishaw and Marcus Carl Franklin – all in the same 2007 ‘I’m Not There’.
