The singer chatted to Love London Love Culture about performing with the LP Swing Orchestra as part of their ‘At the Movies’ show at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne on the 25th August and the Cadogan Hall on the 8th September.
Hi Lance, how does it feel to be working with the LP Swing Orchestra? Always such a joy to work with Joe and the LP swing orchestra …. The pure attention to detail and the musicality of the musicians is second to none. It’s always fun and always good !
For those who have yet to experience watching the orchestra live – what can they expect? They can expect to hear their favourite tunes played as they should be and enjoy the spectacle of an orchestra and the pure joy excitement of the sound.
As the concert is all about songs from movies do you have any particular favourite song from a movie? Over the years I’ve got to sing some fabulous songs from the movies, 2 of my favourites are Bond songs. From Russia with love and Thunderball.
You have worked with so many incredible artists, is there anyone that you would still love the chance to work with? There are so many great artists out there but I suppose Stevie Wonder and George Benson would be two , and maybe someone like Beyoncé …. I love a great singer!
What are you most looking forward to about being part of LP Swing Orchestra: At the Movies? I’m most looking forward to singing some wonderful tunes and collaborating with some great singers Mathew Ford and Julia Sullivan ! Joe Petitt always makes you feel very welcome.
