NEWS: Trailer Released for Mufasa: The Lion King

The film is set to be released in cinemas in December.

Disney have released a brand new trailer for its upcoming prequel to The Lion King, which will focus on the origin story of Mufasa and how he eventually became king of Pridelands.

Simba, having become king of the Pride Lands, is determined for his cub to follow in his paw prints while the origins of his late father Mufasa are explored.

Directed by Barry Jenkins, the film was written by Linda Woolverton, Irene Mecchi and
Jonathan Roberts. It is set to feature music written by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, Line-Manuel Miranda, Nicholas Britell and Mark Mancina.

Meanwhile, the cast is set to see many of those involved with the live action version of The Lion King (2019) reprising their roles including:  Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. New cast members will include: Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Tiffany Boone, Lennie James, and Knowles-Carter’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

Mufasa: The Lion King is set to be released in cinemas on the 20th December.
