The origin story of Mufasa is set to be released in cinemas on the 20th December.
The final trailer has been released for Disney’s latest film exploring the backstory of Mufasa and how he became king of the Pridelands.
Set for release next month, this new story in The Lion King series has been directed by Barry Jenkins.
Simba, having become king of the Pride Lands, is determined for his cub to follow in his paw prints while the origins of his late father Mufasa are explored.
Written by Linda Woolverton, Irene Mecchi and Jonathan Roberts, the film will also feature music by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, Line-Manuel Miranda, Nicholas Britell and Mark Mancina.
The cast for Mufasa will see many of those who were involved with the 2019 live action film of The Lion King reprising their roles including: Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. New cast members will include: Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Tiffany Boone, Lennie James, and Knowles-Carter’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
