We chatted to Tyler about starring in Pan! Peter’s Come Out to Play at Theatre Peckham.

Hi Tyler, how does it feel to be playing Peter Pan? Playing Pan is a dream. I loved Peter Pan growing up, it was one of my favourite films. To be able to tell this story in a new way, that’s more relatable to myself I’d very magical. Pan is such a fun character, and it’s nice to use that energy to play more with the other characters on stage.

What makes Pan! stand out as a festive production? This version has been set around Christmas time, so we have a great base line to explore many Christmas traditions. This includes festive music and so much more.

How do you see your character Pan? I see the character of Pan energetic and youthful. Which I really make use of to portray his playfulness. Really makes playing him so much more enjoyable.

What do you love the most about this re-telling of the story? I love that this version of Neverland is set in the Caribbean. It allows you to connect with a place that is close to your own identity. Furthermore, it allows audience members from different backgrounds to see themselves on stage.
