The show, written and performed by Jade Franks, will run at the Soho Theatre from the 12th to the 31st January 2026.

It has been announced that fresh from its acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Eat the Rich (but maybe not me mates x),Jade Franks, former President of the Footlights at the University of Cambridge, and the show’s creative team have announced a London transfer to Soho Theatre.
The show has won awards such as the Filipa Bragança Award for Best Solo Performance by a Female or Non-Binary Artist, as well as the Holden Street Theatres Award, which comes with the coveted opportunity to perform at HoldenStreet Theatres in Adelaide, Australia.
Inspired by Franks’s own time as a working-class student at Cambridge, the show follows Jade, a Scouse fresher juggling secret cleaning shifts with the culture shock of Oxbridge privilege. With razor-sharp wit and a dozen unforgettable characters, Eat the Rich exposes the absurdities of class, money and belonging in Britain today.
Directed by Tatenda Shamiso (NO I.D., The Royal Court;Sundown Kiki,Young Vic Theatre),Eat the Rich (but maybe not me mates x), the creative team also includes lighting design by Zoe Beeny, sound design by Roly Botha, dramaturg by Ellie Fulcher and is produced by Jasmyn Fisher-Ryner.
Writer and performer Jade Franks comments: “In the hope of finding more wealthy people to be friend (and maybe join our small revolution), we’re bringingEat The Rich (but maybe not me mates x) toLondon’s Soho Theatre, and I couldn’t be more excited. Partly because we’re still in debt from taking the show to the Fringe, even after selling out the run, so it’d be nice to not be skint. But mostly because I can’t wait to perform the show again for new audiences and hangout with the mates I made it with.To balance our desire to not be skint with our belief that skint people should still get to see theatre, we’ve kept a number of heavily discounted tickets for every performance.”
