The film is set for release in cinemas on the 10th July.
Disney has now debuted the official trailer for the live action version of its 2016 animated film ‘Moana’ which will head to cinemas this summer.
Directed by Thomas Kail, the film is set to star Catherine Lagaʻaia in the title role and Dwayne Johnson returning as demigod Maui. They are joined in the film by John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Moana’s mother Sina and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.
The story follows Moana as she goes on a journey to restore prosperity to her community with the help of Maui.
The film will feature all of the songs from the original film including ‘You’re Welcome’ , ‘How Far I’ll Go’ and ‘I Am Moana’ .
Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson is among the producers and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the tunes for the original film, also listed as a producer. The original Moana, Auliʻi Cravalho, serves as an executive producer.
