The latest film in the series will be released in 2027.
A teaser trailer has now been released for the upcoming Shrek 5, which is set to be released in cinemas on the 30th June 2027.
With Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz all return as the voices of Shrek, Donkey and Fiona, this new trailer shows the trio and Shrek and Fiona’s children in a whole new adventure that sees them somehow locked up in jail.
The voice cast is also set to include Zendaya, Saturday Night Live comedian Marcello Hernandez and Skyler Gisondo (Superman, Focker-in-Law) as Shrek and Fiona’s children, Felicia, Fergus and Farkle.
This new film marks the franchise’s first instalment in 17 years, since Shrek Forever After in 2010. In turn, it has also had two spin off films: Puss in Boots and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
